A tribute to my cell phones.

Yesterday while having a deep conversation with Staci I realized this was the 10 year anniversary of my cell phone number. We've had some great times together xxx-xxx-6618-- for our 10 year anniversary here is a photo time line of all of the phones we've shared.

First phone: an exciting gift that accompanied my drivers permit and impending freedom. Two way radio. Antennae that extended. No texting. No camera. No internet. Just phone calls and voicemail. And it was the coolest thing ever.

My second phone. The Nextel i90. This phone was a huge upgrade because it had a blue screen. It was also smaller. And the antennae dint need to be extended to increase service.

My third and final Nextel phone. I have no idea why this was an upgrade from the previous one. This is the first phone I received a text message on. Who knew at the time texting would catch on so much.

The Pink Razr. My family switched from Nextel to Verizon for this lovely phone. It had a camera on it, it was pink, it was small, and it was AWESOME. This was the phone I had during "the summer that changed our lives" and it brings back a lot of memories.

The orange Env. The pink phone broke around the time texting was really taking off, so the flip phone with the full keyboard inside was very appealing. This was also the same phone that Blair on Gossip Girl had which validated my decision to get an orange phone.

The maroon env. This phone was a slight upgrade from the orange env. Bigger screen buy smaller body. Better camera. A bunch of my friends got iPhones and the siren song of the smart phone began playing in my ear.

The white apple iPhone 3g. Amazingly cool phone except for the fact that I got terrible reception with AT&T.

The Verizon Blackberry Storm. I was hooked on a smart phone. Sadly the BB storm didnt quite have its act together and didnt last very long.

This was the phone that started my passionate love affair with the blackberry. And it didnt hurt that it was pink.

The BB Tour. Significant improvement in camera quality and operating system.

The BB Bold. The only improvement was the trackpad instead of the trackball for navigation.

And finally-- the iPhone 4 on Verizon. My current phone that I am quite satisfied with. Given the fact that I have gone through 12 phones in 10 years its a safe bet that this love wont last forever. I am amazed I was able to find pictures of some of these-- especially the earlier ones. Also someday Im sure my children will make fun of me for these in the same way I roll my eye at my mom when she talks about record players.
