A tribute to my cell phones.

Yesterday while having a deep conversation with Staci I realized this was the 10 year anniversary of my cell phone number. We've had some great times together xxx-xxx-6618-- for our 10 year anniversary here is a photo time line of all of the phones we've shared.

First phone: an exciting gift that accompanied my drivers permit and impending freedom. Two way radio. Antennae that extended. No texting. No camera. No internet. Just phone calls and voicemail. And it was the coolest thing ever.

My second phone. The Nextel i90. This phone was a huge upgrade because it had a blue screen. It was also smaller. And the antennae dint need to be extended to increase service.

My third and final Nextel phone. I have no idea why this was an upgrade from the previous one. This is the first phone I received a text message on. Who knew at the time texting would catch on so much.

The Pink Razr. My family switched from Nextel to Verizon for this lovely phone. It had a camera on it, it was pink, it was small, and it was AWESOME. This was the phone I had during "the summer that changed our lives" and it brings back a lot of memories.

The orange Env. The pink phone broke around the time texting was really taking off, so the flip phone with the full keyboard inside was very appealing. This was also the same phone that Blair on Gossip Girl had which validated my decision to get an orange phone.

The maroon env. This phone was a slight upgrade from the orange env. Bigger screen buy smaller body. Better camera. A bunch of my friends got iPhones and the siren song of the smart phone began playing in my ear.

The white apple iPhone 3g. Amazingly cool phone except for the fact that I got terrible reception with AT&T.

The Verizon Blackberry Storm. I was hooked on a smart phone. Sadly the BB storm didnt quite have its act together and didnt last very long.

This was the phone that started my passionate love affair with the blackberry. And it didnt hurt that it was pink.

The BB Tour. Significant improvement in camera quality and operating system.

The BB Bold. The only improvement was the trackpad instead of the trackball for navigation.

And finally-- the iPhone 4 on Verizon. My current phone that I am quite satisfied with. Given the fact that I have gone through 12 phones in 10 years its a safe bet that this love wont last forever. I am amazed I was able to find pictures of some of these-- especially the earlier ones. Also someday Im sure my children will make fun of me for these in the same way I roll my eye at my mom when she talks about record players.

Post wedding review

The royal wedding was everything I had hoped for. The joy and excitement were contagious. Looooved all of the pomp and circumstance. Loved seeing places I remembered from my trip to London back in the day. Jogged memories I had forgotten (my dad saying, while in Westminster abbey: you will see royal weddings and funerals happen here). Loved watching the cars come to the church. Loved Kates dress. Loved Pippa (although I think she should lay off the tanning lotion, she looked a little orange). Loved William's red uniform. Loved how happy it started my day off-- and the happiness carried on all day. I had numerous conversations with customers about the wedding.

Didnt like: Beatrice and Eugenie. Princesses should dress better than that. Kind of disappointing.

Also I found myself thinking a few times how I wished Diana could have been there.

Royal wedding is done, now time for all of the real life weddings I have coming up. Today I am getting my hair done in prep for the moss wedding. Tomorrow I have an alteration appointment so hopefully they can make my dress longer so I dont feel so scandalous. Next week is the bachelorette party, followed by the wedding the next weekend. One weekend off, then up to the UP for another wedding. Love is in the air.

Its finally here

The past week has been kind of draining. I will spare you the details (as there are MANY) but the breaking point was tonight when my royal wedding watching party crashed and burned. I will not let this rain on my parade. Tomorrow morning Louie and I will be watching from bed before work. I cant wait to get caught up in the excitement. I hope its contagious like the swine flu.

Royal Wedding

My love of the royal family dates back to 8th grade when we took a family trip to England. I love the pageantry and the jewelry and the celebrity of the royal family. Oh, and of course the scandal. I'm weirdly excited for the royal wedding. I don't think I am going to take the day off from work to watch it, but I will definitely DVR it and watch as many hours of it as I can possibly stand on Saturday.

Kind of want to get the nail polish named for Kate Middleton (no more waity- katie)

The royal pizza is entertaining and delicious looking

The Lifetime movie airs tonight (why on earth arent I watching it?!?! oh right the gmat..)

I actually find the tmobile wedding dance cheesy, but I have still watched it twice.

5 Things on my mind today

1.) The ABC Family show "Greek"
All of the seasons are on Hulu and if I could I would watch them in bed all day. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kmQbBLf9wVY

2.) Latisse
Yes. I paid $120 for a bottle roughly the size of my fingernail to make my eye lashes grow longer thicker and darker. Stay tuned for progress reports. Today is day three.

3.) kate spade's live colorfully campaign. I just got a new iphone case and bottle of perfume in the mail today. (best part of online shopping: presents in the mail). http://tinyurl.com/3w3xk2m

4.) Adele's new cd. One of my favorite songs: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rYEDA3JcQqw

5.) Getting into grad school.
I am taking the GMAT next week Thursday in GR. Say a prayer.

Back in black

Staci's re dedication to blogging (and showing me old xanga posts) has inspired me to give it another try. Maybe I will make it more than three posts before getting bored? Here is to hoping....

I wasn't sure if i should restart this old blog or make a new one. Laziness won, but here are some of her suggestions for names if i started a new one:
